How long will I be on the waiting list? There is not a specific time frame, due to the availability of units. Does the WRHD have emergency housing? No, not at this time. Does the WRHD have preferences? Yes, based on the Waiting List Point System. First Time Applicant - 20 points Tribal Member - 20 points Tribal Elder - 20 points Each Child - 5 points *Tribally Enrolled Children - additional 25 points *If you have been on the Waiting List for 6 months - 1 year, you will receive an additional 20 points. *If you have been on the Waiting List for more than 1 year, you will receive an additional 25 points. I have no income at this time, can I still apply? You are more than welcome to apply, however you will not be placed on the waiting list as you do not meet income requirements. How often do I need to update my housing application to remain on the waiting list? Annually. Are tenants responsible for repairs? Tenants are responsible for any damages other than normal wear and tear. Can I add another person to my family composition? Yes, but the head-of-household must receive prior approval from the WRHD. How long can a friend/visitor/relative stay? Up to 30 days. |
