**Applicant/s for the following programs, must be enrolled member of a federally recognized tribe (WRPT members will receive preference over members of any other Federally Recognized Tribe or Alaska Native).
**NO person regardless of age will be eligible for any program if they have been convicted of a crime by a tribal, federal, or any other court of jurisdiction involving the manufacture growth, transportation, sale or attempt of sale, or use of any substance deemed to be illegal. Sexual offense against another person in any venue shall be considered ineligible. 

​Low-Rental Program (LR): 
(Requirements) 
  • Must be a low-income family, meaning your families income cannot exceed 80% of the median income level for our service area, dependent upon the size of your family. 
  • Minimum Income
    • 2 Bedroom - $10,500
    • 3 Bedroom - $14,500
    • 4 Bedroom - $18,500
    • 5 Bedroom - $24,500
  • Applicants must demonstrate a stable income for at least 12 months.
Mutual Help Program (MH)/Homeownership (HO):
(Requirements)
  • Must be a low-income family, meaning your families income cannot exceed 80% of the median income level.
  • Minimum Income 
    • 2 Bedroom - $14,500
    • 3 Bedroom - $18,500
    • 4 Bedroom - $24,500
    • 5 Bedroom - $24,500
  • All families which include single persons who apply for a unit with the WRHD shall initially only be considered for a Rental Unit.
  • Applications must demonstrate a stable income for at least 12 months.
Each applicant is responsible for providing all necessary information, accurately completing the application as required, and is responsible for updating their application annually.

Renovation Program (RP): 
​The WRHD will provide assistance to pay for renovation expenses, building permits, and local licensing requirements for individually owned homes or homes that are owned by the WRPT.
  • ​​Participation in the WRHD's RP is limited to low-income families as defined by the WRHD. Participants will be required to provide an application for the program and documentation to verify low-income status.
  • Assistance will also be provided to households who meet the 80%-100% median income level.
  • The Housing Director or other designated employee shall review and approve each renovation application. 
  • This assistance to the home buyer/homeowner Tribal member will be paid directly to a contractor or for the WRHD Force Account staff to make the repairs or renovations or to the appropriate agency that requires specific types of fees for permits, fees, or licensing requirements to rehabilitate a house or unit.
Elderly/Disabled Assistance Program:
This program is to provide assistance for the elderly/disabled in the repairs and rehabilitation of existing homes of low-income elderly/disabled persons to ensure access to their homes and barrier free bath facilities; for safe and sanitary conditions and better living environment. (Handicap accessible ramps/bathrooms, etc.)

Elderly/Disabled Utility Assistance Program:
This program is to provide assistance for the elderly/disabled persons to ensure continued utility/services, for safe and sanitary conditions and better living environments. 
Available October 1st through May 31st
(This program is for heating resources only)​

​Tribal Elder Home Protection Program: ​
This program is to provide structure/unit protection for Walker River Tribal Elders who meet NAHASDA Regulations for admission to any housing program.

Work Orders: 
All work orders can be submitted during normal business hours by calling the housing office. We currently have (2) full-time Maintenance and more recently have hired a Maintenance Trainee to ensure work orders can be completed within a timely manner. 
 
Home Improvement Loan Program:
This program is to provide eligible homebuyers and homeowners the opportunity to improve their homes or have services performed to their homes through a loan. 
(Eligibility Requirements) 

1.) Homebuyer under WRHD management or Homeowner
  • Homeowners MUST provide proof of            homeownership 
  • Homebuyers must be current with all duties under their agreements with the WRHD for at least one (1) year prior to applying.
2.) A resident of the Walker River Paiute Reservation
     a. Must provide two (2) forms of proof of residency 
     b. No loan agreements will be approved for services performed outside the exterior boundaries of the Walker River Paiute Reservation. Services approved must be completed within the Reservation on existing units belonging to eligible applicants.
3.) Income Eligible. Must meet minimum Income Requirements
4.) Cannot owe any outstanding balances to the Tribe, this includes water/sewage, daycare, and etc.
